Everyone's wait is over, we are over the moon excited to share our newest bohemian inspired mobile bar for hire, Whinny, The Mini Bar. She is a 1938 one horse, horse trailer.
The angle iron frame and side walls were all replaced. When our fabricator removed the old walls, the bottoms had been eroded from almost 100 years of horses traveling across Texas.

Now that the walls and floor have been replaced the outside will have wood paneling and be completely sealed on the inside with steel.

Then, the fun part. We did our bar tops differently to save space this time around. They fold up when not in service. Folding down with a beautiful surprise, (that you will see when we release her final photos)! Whinny now has 3 bar tops to serve from.
We were going to salvage the really cool fenders that came with Whinny, but when we took the paint guards off, there was so much rust that we decided not to chance it. New fenders all set!
It feels a little odd to say "Custom Details" as the whole bar is truly custom and one-of-a-kind, but there are a few little things we are putting on Whinny to make her stand out from any other mobile bar for hire in Texas.

Starting with her latches, the grated windows, and the back ramp bar, Whinny is truly customized. Our Fabricators are taking their time to ensure every little detail is perfect.
One of the issues we ran into with The Pour Horse is that we have an opening only on one side with a bar top. This posed a problem with limited space for pulling the trailer forward while attached to the truck or having to reverse into small spaces (don't worry, we have a solution for this!).

With Whinny, we can easily pull her by hand into place but also decided to make all sides usable bar space.

We took Whinny over to Hector at Pro Trailer for our primer, paint and seal. We decided to go with a vintage Ivory and leave a few of the original body scars and scrapes as part of her vintage appeal.

At this stage, all Whinny needs is the wood panels on the sides, chalkboard on the back, hard wood bar tops, canvas top and lighting. Whinny is right on schedule!
We are so happy to say that the final touches are all starting to come together and Whinny is about to be done. We did a Jacoba bartop with a bohemian lace painted runner down all 3 bar tops. All that's left is the canvas roof top. C&J Awnings in San Antonio has already got the custom made top fitted and it will be attached this weekend, ready for a Dec 5 release!

We found Whinny for sale in Dale, TX and picked her up around midnight down a dark and dusty road. Cell service was scarce, so you can say we were a little terrified. When we finally arrived, we knew she was PERFECT for the bar in our imagination. Checked her lights, hooked her up and brought her home.
After a few consultations to get our one of a kind vision on paper, we dropped Whinny off to our fabricator, Wandarlust Ironworks. They immediately stripped her down and started building a new frame. This may be the sturdiest horse trailer in town. 3" angle iron replaced the rusted iron from the original 1938 frame.

Little did we know; Whinny came with a surprise fire ant nest in the floor. We removed what was left of the floor as well.
With having one already fully built bar, we know what works and what doesn't when it comes to drainage and storage. While The Pour Horse has shelves, a mini refrigerator and storage built in, it all takes up a lot of space. Space we don't have in our little mini. In order to make Whinny more space efficient, we put shelves that come down when in use but fold up when not in use. speaking of space......
One part of our trailer conversion has us super excited; a custom ramp built in, leading up to the bar and has a chalkboard menu built in! Having a calligrapher come and put your signature menu on Whinny is a special treat.
Thank you so much for following along with Whinny's build. If you are interested in building a trailer of your own and need some design help or would like a SassTass Mobile Bars to build you your own, please use the contact page.
We are currently booking Whinny for 2018 but dates are going fast!! Grab your date before we are all booked up.
